CVCC is located in Carson Valley, a short distance from Carson City, Nevada and just a stone's throw East of Lake Tahoe.

The area was first settled by the Washoe Indians long before the "white man" came to these parts.  The first Anglo settlement in Nevada was at "Mormon Station," present day town of Genoa is the result.

The Carson Valley is well known for it fertile soil; prize lamb and beef are also raised here.  During the early part of the last of the 20th century, Carson Valley has fought to keep the valley as rural as possible.
